I have made this simple green juice recipe in the past 2.5 years, and it is one of these booklings that I come back to again and again – especially if I have to reset a little. I usually manage to drink in the morning and try to drink on an empty stomach to drink in all the kind. I admit when I made it for the first time, I prepared myself for something Blandes (or almost real). But I was pleasantly surprised – the apple, lemon and ginger give it a lively, refreshing taste that is honestly delicious.

If you try to bring more greens into your routine, this is one of the simplest and tasty opportunities to do this. When I make this juice, I like it at the beginning of the week, so I have a few days to reach out of the fridge for a few days. It is perfect for busy morning or when I want something nutritious.

You can find more delicious and herbal drinks this ABC juice (apple red and carrot) as well as this green smoothie.

Why will you love this recipe for green juice

  • Yummy: The sweetness of the apple paired with the tartness of ginger and the citrus taste of the lemon is the most delicious mix and a great way to wake up.
  • Healthy: Made from healthy, natural ingredients. No additional juices or sugar bought in the store.
  • Versatile: The basis of this juice is delicious, but there are many ways to add it to make it unique.

Key ingredients

A complete list of ingredients with measurements can be found in the following recipe card.

  • English cucumber: A great addition to every juice because it is so water -packed. I prefer English cucumbers (the longer cucumbers) because they have a thin skin and are sweeter. You can use any variety you have. If you use smaller cucumbers, use 2 instead of 1.
  • celery: You want the full head (approx. 5 – 6 stems celery), so break it into pieces if necessary.
  • Apple: What kind of apple you have at hand works. I like to use Granny Smith apples or Ambrosia apples. Make sure you pay it first and cut it into quarters so that it is not so much work for your juicer.
  • lemon: Adds a uplifting taste to the green juice. Add more if you really love a lemon taste. Alternatively, you can also use a lime.
  • Ginger: You want to use fresh ginger and not powdered so that you get the best bang for your money.
  • Italian parsley: A little runs a long way with this herb, so adapt to yourself as required. It makes a great green color, but can have a somewhat bitter taste.

How to make green juice

Step 1. Prepare the ingredients. Wash and core what you need to chop the ingredients into smaller pieces so that it is easier to juice.

Step 2. Juice. Feed everything in the juicer, but put the parsley and ginger between larger products.

Step 3. Mix. As soon as it is juicy, give it a good mix to combine the flavors.

Step 4. Enjoy. Pour it into a glass to sip or keep the fridge.

Recipe notes and tips

Here are some tips to ensure that your homemade green juice is perfect every time:

  • The type of apple you choose affects the taste of the green juice. Honey crispy apples bring a sweet profile while Granny Smith will be Tarter.
  • You don’t have to peel the cucumber or apple.
  • You want to put the parsley and the ginger between larger products so that it not only flies around in the juicer.

How to do it without juicer

Although a juicer is the easiest, you can easily produce this green juice with a powerful mixer with a high -performance mixer.

To use this technique, first chop your ingredients into smaller pieces. Then add them to a mixer and pour in filtered water to cover them.

Mix up for a few minutes before loading the pulp through a cheese cloth, a fine mesh sieve or a nut milk bag. This could require some attempts if the pulp builds up.

Save the juice

Homemade juices always taste best. However, you can keep them in a mason glass in the fridge for up to 48 hours.

You will want to give him a good shaking before you enjoy it so that the flavors recombine recombinate.

Fluctuations

If you open your own juices, you can adjust them as much as you want. You will find some delicious additions below.

Leaf vegetables: Sometimes I like to add spinach or kale to the juice.

Citrus: Add some oranges or grapefruit for more sweetness and an uplifting taste.

Less sugar: If you don’t want the sweetness from the apple, use carrots instead. Carrots are still cute, but they will also add an additional vegetable to the juice.

Herbs or spice: Adding a turmeric or cayenne pepper can pack a little taste and a healthy blow.
